My name is Debbie Sanders and I started making beads back in 2007 when a friend of mine introduced me to lampworking. I learned how to make animals first but my passion quickly turned to “organics.” Through trial and error, I became familiar with color reactions as they interact with metals and silver glass. I have always had an artistic side from the time I was young, dabbling in painting and other art mediums up through college. I really appreciate the organic look that seems to have its own unique style on each bead. No two beads are ever the same. My beads have been featured on Belle Armoire Jewelry’s front cover for their Winter 2013-14 quarterly publication, and Soda Lime Times.
I love the beauty of organic. I love the “not so perfect” looking bead. To me, that is the beauty in the bead, the originality, the craftsmanship, the one of a kind that no one else can replicate. That, to me, is the true artistry of organic lampworking; where you can be inspired as you go, and allow your creativity to take you where you may not have originally intended to go; and be “spontaneous.”
